Data, Goals, and Accountability in Mankato Area Public Schools

These are the Mankato Area Public Schools Vision Cards that the School Board reviewed during our September Work Session. Notice that this version includes the district’s performance data and measurable goals, elements that were missing from the version later approved in October.

You can also find these goals on the district website: https://www.isd77.org/experience/maps-strategic-roadmap

Work Sessions are open to the public, and all materials presented there become part of the public record. That’s why I strongly encourage you to attend these sessions, they’re one of the best ways to stay informed and engaged with the district’s decision-making process. You can find the school board calendar here: https://www.isd77.org/calendar

On October 6th, the School Board approved these Vision Cards in a 6–1 vote (I was the sole “no” vote). If you’d like to hear the full discussion, it begins about 51 minutes into the meeting.

Transparency starts with knowing what’s being changed and why. Clear information and honest benchmarks are essential if we want to understand how our schools are truly performing.
